Metro is a current affairs magazine that has been part of Auckland’s social fabric since 1981, moving through many iterations but united by one goal: to celebrate and hold the city to account. Having won Magazine of the Year at the 2020 Voyager Media Awards before its temporary closure, Metro is back under independent local ownership and helmed by returning editor Henry Oliver.
The new Metro is reimagined as a quarterly with four bigger, fatter, more beautiful issues a year, plus the development of several digital platforms. This will give Aucklanders even greater access to insider knowledge of their city, invigorate the arts and culture scene, and provide value to a broad demographic of readers.
